The SA-24 Grinch, also known as the 9K338 Igla-S, is a modern man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) designed for engaging low-flying enemy aircraft and helicopters. It represents a significant advancement in portable air defense technology, offering enhanced capabilities for ground forces to counter airborne threats.
It is the successor to the SA-18 Grouse, also known as the 9K38 Igla, and is part of the Igla family of MANPADS.
It can be accompanied by a 9S80 search radar (NATO designation "Dog Ear"), HARM code 109.
